4 stars out of 5 stars
*I received an eARC of this book from the publisher. However, it did not influence this review in any way.*

Earlier this year, I read Liz Czukas' debut novel Ask Again Later. I completely fell in love with the book, so when I heard about this book I immediately added it to my to-read list.

Top Ten Clues You're Clueless follows the story of Chloe. She is working a shift at her local grocery store on Christmas Eve and to make matters worse, she hasn't made any friends and it typically makes for a rather long, lonely shift. However, she's in for a surprise when she and her fellow teens coworkers get accused of stealing $10,000.

I love getting to know Chloe and the rest of the gang: Sammi, Gabe, Micah, Zaina, and Tyson. They are completely different from another but once they let down their barriers, they can see how much in common they have with each other. I enjoyed reading all the shenanigans that they got themselves into and I even LOLed a few time, causing the people around me to look at me weird. I also, thoroughly enjoyed the "top ten" lists that Chloe was always referencing to; they definitely made things interesting.

Liz Czukas managed to create another book that I devoured in a couple of hours and left me wanting more. I loved the book from beginning to end and I can't wait to own the finished copy. Czukas is slowly becoming an author that I know I will just read anything from because her books just give me a happy feeling afterwards. If you haven't read her previous work, you're missing out so go out and buy it.

Quotes (#84)

Morning Lovelies,

I hope you all had a great weekend. It Thanksgiving week for us American and I, for one, am super excited about it. I definitely need a break away from school and work. Of course, I have a ton of school work and work stuff to do before I can relax. So let's do some quotes.

“Life is too short to be lived badly.”Marjane Satrapi, Persepolis 2: The Story of a Return

“. . . when it comes down to it, that’s what life is all about: showing up for the people you love, again and again, until you can’t show up anymore.”Rebecca Walker, Baby Love: Choosing Motherhood After a Lifetime of Ambivalence

“If we wait for the moment when everything, absolutely everything is ready, we shall never begin.”Ivan Turgenev

“Literature is humanity talking to itself.”Norman Rush

“Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty and truth and compassion against injustice and lying and greed. If people all over the world...would do this, it would change the earth.”William Faulkner

“For to know a man's library is, in some measure, to know his mind.”Geraldine Brooks, March

“A woman has to live her life, or live to repent not having lived it.”D.H. Lawrence, Lady Chatterley's Lover

That's it for me. I hope you all have a great week!

This weeks pick is: Dirty Rowdy Thing by Christina Lauren

Despite their rowdy hookups, Harlow and Finn don’t even like each other...which would explain why their marriage lasted only twelve hours. He needs to be in charge and takes whatever he wants. She lives by the Want-something-done? Do-it-yourself mantra. Maybe she’s too similar to the rugged fisherman—or just what he needs.

They did it again! I absolutely love this book, it's witty, sarcastic, and funny! The sexy scenes are amazing and I love the chemistry between Harlow and Finn.

About the Author:

Lauren Billings (but everyone calls her Lo) has a Ph.D. in neuroscience and before she made writing her full-time job, would spend her days doing nerdy research-type things wearing a lab coat and goggles. She is silly Mommy to two littles, wife to one mountain biking homebrewing scientist, bestie to a shoe-stealer, and an unabashed lover of YA and romance.

Christina Hobbs (but you’ll always hear Lo call her PQ) used to spend her days in a junior high counseling office surrounded by teenagers. Married to the cutest boy in school, she has a thirteen year old daughter, is an unapologetic lover of boy bands and glitter, and also likes to steal Lo’s shoes.

Morning swooners!

This week pre-publication "can't wait to read" selection is:

Expected Release Date: January 20, 2015
Synopsis:
It’s easy to walk away from lies. Power is another thing.

MacKayla Lane would do anything to save the home she loves. A gifted sidhe-seer, she’s already fought and defeated the deadly Sinsar Dubh—an ancient book of terrible evil—yet its hold on her has never been stronger. When the wall that protected humans from the seductive, insatiable Fae was destroyed on Halloween, long-imprisoned immortals ravaged the planet. Now Dublin is a war zone with factions battling for control. As the city heats up and the ice left by the Hoar Frost King melts, tempers flare, passions run red-hot, and dangerous lines get crossed. Seelie and Unseelie vie for power against nine ancient immortals who have governed Dublin for millennia; a rival band of sidhe-seers invades the city, determined to claim it for their own; Mac’s former protégé and best friend, Dani “Mega” O’Malley, is now her fierce enemy; and even more urgent, Highland druid Christian MacKeltar has been captured by the Crimson Hag and is being driven deeper into Unseelie madness with each passing day. The only one Mac can depend on is the powerful, dangerous immortal Jericho Barrons, but even their fiery bond is tested by betrayal.

It’s a world where staying alive is a constant struggle, the line between good and evil gets blurred, and every alliance comes at a price. In an epic battle against dark forces, Mac must decide who she can trust, and what her survival is ultimately worth.

I am a big fan of the Fever series and I can't wait to see how Mac and Barrons are doing!

Good Morning,
The semester is almost coming to an end and I keep telling my people that I finally see the light and the end of the tunnel! Except that I have this nagging suspicion that it's a train that's coming to run me over before I can get through to the other side. *sighs* Alas we must keep trudging through until we get through this semester. On a happier note the holidays are upon us (cue the cheesy Xmas music)! Now on to the quotes...

Rose Zarelli, self-proclaimed word geek and angry girl, has some confessions to make…
1. I'm livid all the time. Why? My dad died. My mom barely talks. My brother abandoned us. I think I'm allowed to be irate, don't you?
2. I make people furious regularly. Want an example? I kissed Jamie Forta, a badass guy who might be dating a cheerleader. She is now enraged and out for blood. Mine.
3. High school might as well be Mars. My best friend has been replaced by an alien, and I see red all the time. (Mars is red and "seeing red" means being angry—get it?)
Here are some other vocab words that describe my life: Inadequate. Insufferable. Intolerable.
(Don't know what they mean? Look them up yourself.)
(Sorry. That was rude.)

This was such a fun, touching, and funny book to read and it instantly became a favorite. I love Rose's character and her strength, although I'm sure she wouldn't see as that, is so inspiring and I need for more people to read this book.

***This is a Did Not Finish review. These are my thoughts of what I read.***

Initially the concept for this book sounded great, and it's still a great concept but I just couldn't get into how it was executed in this book. This novel has a strong female character which I love but her voice sounded too formal; which made is hard for me to connect with her. The dialogue and Gail's inner monologue annoyed me to the point that I decided to stop reading this novel. There were certain phrases which had me rolling my eyes, or I would have to step away from the story and rant to my friends to see if it was just me. Like I said before I really like the concept and that the protagonist is a strong educated female character but I just couldn't get past the dialogue issue.

In Texas, two things are cherished above all else—football and gossip. My life has always been ruled by both.

Dallas Cole loathes football. That's what happens when you spend your whole childhood coming in second to a sport. College is her time to step out of the bleachers, and put the playing field (and the players) in her past.

But life doesn't always go as planned. As if going to the same college as her football star ex wasn’t bad enough, her father, a Texas high school coaching phenom, has decided to make the jump to college ball… as the new head coach at Rusk University. Dallas finds herself in the shadows of her father and football all over again.

Carson McClain is determined to go from second-string quarterback to the starting line-up. He needs the scholarship and the future that football provides. But when a beautiful redhead literally falls into his life, his focus is more than tested. It's obliterated.

Dallas doesn't know Carson is on the team. Carson doesn't know that Dallas is his new coach's daughter.

And neither of them know how to walk away from the attraction they feel.

I love how Cora Carmack writes! I absolutely love this book and will be reading it over and over again for years to come. The characters have a way of sucking you into the story. All Lined Up is funny, sweet and all things wonderful.

About the Author:
Cora Carmack is a twenty-something writer who likes to write about twenty-something characters. She's done a multitude of things in her life-- boring jobs (like working retail), Fun jobs (like working in a theatre), stressful jobs (like teaching), and dream jobs (like writing). She enjoys placing her characters in the most awkward situations possible, and then trying to help them get a boyfriend out of it. Awkward people need love, too. Blog Tour Stop - Review + Giveaway: Caged in Winter by Brighton Walsh

Caged in Winter
(Caged in Winter #1)
Author: Brighton Walsh
Release Date: November 4, 2014
Publisher: Berkley Books
Source: Publisher/NetGally
Review by: Jenn
In this emotional and sexy New Adult debut from Brighton Walsh, the only thing more frightening than commitment is hope…...

Aspiring chef Cade Maxwell is immediately, viscerally attracted to Winter Jacobson. But it’s not her mouthwatering curves he’s drawn to—it’s the strange emptiness in her eyes. When Cade saves her from a drunken customer with grabby hands, he’s shocked at her response…...
Winter doesn’t need Cade’s help. After a lifetime of getting by on her own, she’s happy to rely on herself. She’s exactly seventy-six days away from graduating college, and if she can hold it together that long, she’ll finally be able to rise above the crappy hand she was dealt.
But now, every time she turns around, Cade is there, ready to push her, smile at her, distract her from her plans. Winter knows she can’t afford to open up—especially to a man she’s terrified to actually want….

4 stars out of 5 stars

*I received an eARC of this book from the publisher. However, it did not influence this review in any way.*

Brighton Walsh has done it again. She has managed to create some wonderful, relatable, REAL characters that you feel like you might know in real life. Walsh's writing is always so easy to read and it flows very naturally so I never felt like the story was slow or forced.

Caged in Winter follows the story of Winter and Cade as they navigate the last few months of school. They are both dealing with a lot on their plate but are trying to make the most of their options. Winter has actually led a crappy life and so she has come to rely on only herself. She's a tough cookie and I applaud her getting to where she needs all on her own and doing it successfully. However, I actually had a bit of hard time relating to her and got annoyed by her several times through out the book. I tried to really be empathetic to her and her situation but the way she really closed herself off, to Cade and to anyone who tried to help her, really didn't make me her biggest fan. Though, I am happy that she does get what she always wanted because after all those years of hard work, she deserves some goodness in her life.

Cade, on the other hand, has me wrapped around his finger. He's tall, tattooed, is an absolute sweetheart to his niece, and is a chef. What more could a girl want? He's was so sweet and sexy and understanding of where Winter was coming from. He tried to make things easier for her but when Winter wouldn't allow him to help her, he found another way to do so. He did some stupid things that I will not go in too much details but it did cause a fight between him and Winter. It was in that occasion that Winter kind of irritated me because I knew what Cade said was stupid and said in anger so he didn't meant anything by it. She took it to heart even though she shouldn't have and then took it to an extreme. Whenever these little misunderstanding happens, I just want to lock the fighting couple in room and talk things out.

Other than that, I love everything about this book. The characters, the story, the flow, the writing. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series, which will feature Cade's best friend, Jason, and Cade's younger sister, Tessa. After getting a small glimpse of these characters, I just know that it will awesome.

Excerpt
I bend my knees so we’re eye level and tug on her hand until she meets my gaze. “I don’t know what we could have. It might be nothing. But I’ll be honest . . . I haven’t felt like this in a long time, and that’s enough for me to know I want to see where it goes. Can’t we just see where it goes?”
With a deep sigh, she says, “I’m not right for you, Cade.”
“How about you worry about if I’m right for you. Let me decide the other.”
And then before she can stop me, before she can utter another word of opposition, I slide my hand up her arm, over her shoulder, until it’s wrapped around her neck. With my other hand, I swipe a piece of hair back with my fingers, and then lean in, brushing my lips against hers. After only a moment, I pull back just enough for her to be able to tell me to stop. When nothing comes, I close the distance between us once again, taking her bottom lip in between mine. I brush my tongue against it, coaxing her mouth open, and she breathes this sexy little gasp as I slip inside. She tastes like cookies and wine, and I want to fucking devour her.
She grips my shirt with both hands, clutching me to her, and I stop holding back and press every inch of my body against hers, groaning as my cock presses fully against her. The moment a whimper comes from her, I know she feels it. And I can’t muster up any embarrassment, because I want her to feel it. Even with all her brass balls and fuck-everything attitude, something tells me she needs reassurance, so I give it to her. In every stroke of my tongue against hers, every brush of my thumb along her jaw, I show her how much I want her.
When her chest is heaving, her lips parted and swollen and so fucking hot, I trail kisses down her neck, seeking out every inch of skin that’s uncovered. Her head thumps back against the wall, one of her hands gone from gripping fistfuls of my shirt. Instead, she’s holding my head to her, and I don’t want to stop. I want to kiss and lick every inch of her, slip my hands under the material of her sweater, unbutton her jeans, and not stop until I feel her soft wetness against my fingertips.
But the knowledge that she’ll regret it if I don’t stop forces me to slow down.
I pull back, loosening my grip on her and putting an inch of space between us. I kiss the corner of her mouth, her cheek, and then her ear. Against it, I whisper, “Don’t say no.”
There’s a beat of silence. Two. Three. And then she says the sweetest word I’ve ever heard. “Okay.”

Review: All Broke Down by Cora Carmack

All Broke Down (Rusk University, #2)
Author: Cora Carmack
Release Date: October 28, 2014
Publisher: William Morrow
Source: Personal Copy
Review by: Nahomi
Dylan fights for lost causes. Probably because she used to be one.

Environmental issues, civil rights, corrupt corporations, and politicians you name it, she's probably been involved in a protest. When her latest cause lands her in jail overnight, she meets Silas Moore. He's in for a different kind of fighting. And though he's arrogant and infuriating, she can't help being fascinated with him. Yet another lost cause.

Football and trouble are the only things that have ever come naturally to Silas. And it's trouble that lands him in a cell next to do-gooder Dylan. He's met girls like her before fixers, he calls them, desperate to heal the damage and make him into their ideal boyfriend. But he doesn't think he's broken, and he definitely doesn't need a girlfriend trying to change him. Until, that is, his anger issues and rash decisions threaten the only thing he really cares about: his spot on the Rusk University football team. Dylan might just be the perfect girl to help.

Because Silas Moore needs some fixing after all.

4.5 stars out of 5 stars

To say that I love Cora Carmack's writing is a bit of an understatement. All Broke Down is a beautifully written story that deals with a lot of issues that normally aren't addressed. I just couldn't put down this book, and I would have finished it sooner if other responsibilities hadn't got in the way. All Broke Down transitions effortlessly between Silas and Dylan's points of view. The dialogue was on point, and I was in suspense through out the whole story. Just when I though everything was going to get better and we had our resolution, bam! Cora throws another twist to the story that completely caught me by surprise.

Silas and Dylan are so cute together, they are like different sides of the same coin, they balance each other. Silas is the ultimate bad boy; uber hot, bad temper, and is the ultimate flirt. I love his personality, because although he is a man whore and has temper issues, he is honorable and a really nice guy and most of all, honest about what he wants. Silas is rough and comes off as a tough guy but I love that he is sweet, sensitive and protective when it comes to Dylan.

Dylan seems like your typical over achieving good girl, that is having a rebellious streak. But as I got to know her, I found that she was just trying to find out who she was and what she wanted in her life. Dylan is funny and awkward and suffers from diarrhea of the mouth when she gets nervous.

I thought both characters show a significant amount of character growth throughout the book. I was really sad to finish the book because even though I wanted to see how the story ended I wanted more of Silas, Dylan and the gang. I can't wait for All Played Out!
